Academic Support Services provides targeted resources and opportunities for students who wish to strengthen their skills, build confidence, and reach their full potential.
Intervention Services
The STVM Intervention Services department supports students with mild to moderate learning differences, providing the personalized instruction and accommodations they need to succeed in a rigorous college-preparatory environment. Licensed Intervention Specialists deliver individualized support for a student’s individual education program (IEP) using the most current, research-based educational and instructional practices. Students who qualify for the Jon Peterson or Autism Scholarship are served through our skilled team. Some courses are co-taught by both a content-area teacher and an Intervention Specialist working side by side, while others are smaller, more focused intervention classes designed to address specific learning needs.
Whatever the setting, St. Vincent-St. Mary High School provides flexible options to ensure that every student receives the right level of support.

| Students can receive individualized support in writing and mathematics to reinforce classroom learning, build foundational skills, and develop effective study habits. |
| Semester & Final Exam Study Sessions |
| STVM organizes and hosts study sessions prior to semester and final exams for students to meet with teachers and study with classmates in a relaxed, focused atmosphere. |
| AP Test Study Sessions |
| Throughout the spring months leading up the AP exams, STVM faculty members host multiple review sessions outside of regular classroom meetings to help students achieve the highest scores possible. |
| Peer Tutoring through Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society |
| Members of our Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society provide peer tutoring to students seeking extra help in math. This peer-to-peer approach encourages collaboration, mentorship, and confidence in problem-solving. |
| ACT Prep |
| Led by a veteran educator and tutor, STVM offers ACT Prep sessions to help students with test-taking strategies and content review for the ACT test, commonly used for college admissions. |
