The mission of St. Vincent-St. Mary High School's Comprehensive School Counseling Program is to advocate for an environment that supports high achievement for all students and will empower them to become effective learners, responsible citizens, and productive members of a global workforce.
In collaboration with other educators and families, the counseling program enables all students to experience educational success by providing preventative and responsive services in the areas of academic, career, and personal-social development to help students reach their full potential.
The Counseling Department at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School is committed to meeting the unique intellectual, physical, social, and emotional needs of each student. We have a dedicated team of 5 licensed school counselors that have many years of experience in this field.
Our four full-time counselors are Mrs. Adkins, Ms. Crooks, Mr. Mike and Ms. Zimmer.
Our school counselor’s caseloads are broken up by last name: Mr. Mike (A-F), Mrs. Adkins (G-K), Ms. Crooks (L-R) and Ms. Zimmer (S-Z). The school counselors conduct a Freshman Parent Night, College Credit Plus Parent Night and additional parent nights as needed. They also coordinate an annual College Fair and Career Fair.
We also have a college counselor, Mrs. Miller.
Our college counselor is Mrs. Miller. Our Counselor will start meeting with students individually their junior year and also through classroom lessons to help them navigate the college process. The counseling department also conducts a Junior Parent Night and Senior/FAFSA Parent Night.
In the spirit of the Gospel, we are committed to educate the whole person; to lead and to serve, enlightening the mind, developing the body, touching the heart, and inspiring the soul.
