For more than 50 years, St. Vincent-St. Mary High School has been a leader in serving students with individualized learning needs. Our CareerReady Program, proudly supported in part by the Charles and Salome Reymann Foundation, blends tradition with innovation to prepare students with developmental disabilities for life beyond high school.
Through small-group instruction, everyday skill-building, and hands-on work experiences, CareerReady empowers students to build independence and confidence for college, career, and daily life. Students practice essential life skills such as budgeting, transportation, and communication while exploring career interests through internships, job shadowing, and community service.
A hallmark of the program, Transition-to-Work connects students with real-world job experiences through strong partnerships with local businesses and service providers. This ensures that every graduate has the tools and opportunities to pursue meaningful employment and contribute to their community.
Thanks to the Reymann Foundation’s support, STVM students now have expanded access to Stark State University – Akron Campus. Students can:
Explore college life and independence
Gain hands-on work experience on a college campus
Enroll in Stark State’s robust College Credit Plus (CCP) courses
This fall, students will take part in STVM’s first Foundations CCP course, giving them the opportunity to explore different career paths.
