  • CareerReady Program

For more than 50 years, the Intervention Services Department at STVM has served students with individualized learning needs, guided by the five characteristics of Marianist Education. Our comprehensive, student-centered approach empowers students to develop the academic and executive functioning skills necessary for a successful transition to college, career, and life. Through the CareerReady Program, we blend tradition with innovation—combining classroom instruction, real-world skill building, and hands-on work experiences.

Services

CareerReady students practice essential life skills such as budgeting, transportation, and communication, while also exploring career interests through internships and job shadowing. With personalized support from expert educators and strong partnerships with local organizations such as Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD), students are equipped to gain confidence, independence, and self-advocacy skills. STVM serves students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) through the Jon Peterson and Autism scholarships. Scholarships are available through the Ohio Department of Education.

At STVM, CareerReady ensures every graduate is prepared with the tools, experience, and faith-driven values to build a bright future.

  • Transition to Work

In January 2021, STVM launched a transition-to-work program for students with special needs. In partnership with the Charles and Salome Reymann Foundation, we are able to offer transition services, including career exploration and job based internships, to ensure students have the skills to be successful in the workplace. As part of the vocational training class, students will receive job coaching while working at local businesses in order to gain employment upon graduation. This program offers them the specific training and skill development to turn their dreams into real accomplishments!
