Biography

Mrs. Drumm has taught Chinese at STVM since 2010. She is a native of Akron who spent seven years in China working in university study abroad programs. She became a licensed Chinese teacher in 2007 through Cleveland State University. Besides teaching high school Chinese, she also taught courses in Chinese history, politics, and culture at the university level. Mrs. Drumm holds a BA in Political Science from The College of Wooster and an MA in Asian Studies: China from The University of Michigan, Center for Chinese Studies. Mrs. Drumm has also received training in Chinese pedagogy from Kent State University (2 year FLAP grant), Indiana University Center for Chinese Pedagogy (STARTALK grant), and the Northeast Teacher Training University in Changchun, China (U.S. Dept. of State grant). Most recently, she participated in Ohio State University’s East Asian studies training program through their National Consortium for Teaching about Asia funded by the Freeman Foundation. 

Mrs. Drumm also coordinates the program for international students from China studying at STVM.
