The Marianists

St. Vincent-St. Mary High School is sponsored by the Marianist Province of the United States of America. This province is a network consisting of three universities, 19 schools, six parishes, and four retreat centers. The Marianists have identified five key Characteristics of Marianist Education (CMEs) which drive our academic and spiritual programming and closely align with our Mission Statement:

  • Educate for formation in faith
  • Provide an integral, quality education
  • Educate in family spirit
  • Educate for service, justice, peace, and the integrity of creation.
  • Educate for adaptation and change

This Marianist sponsorship offers STVM a fresh approach to bolstering its Catholic identity, as well as the advantages of being part of a thriving network of Marianist-sponsored schools across the country. The Society of Mary (Marianists) is a 200 year-old religious order, founded by Blessed William Joseph Chaminade, recognized globally for excellence in education.

The Three O'Clock Prayer

Lord Jesus,
we gather in spirit at the foot of the Cross
with your mother
and the disciple whom you loved.
We ask your pardon for our sins,
which are the cause of your death.
We thank you for remembering us
in that hour of salvation
and for giving us Mary as our mother.
Holy Virgin, take us under your protection
and open us to the action of the Holy Spirit.
St. John, obtain for us the grace
of taking Mary into our lives, as you did
and of assisting her in her mission. Amen.
