Mrs. Marsala was born and raised in Ohio. She earned her bachelors degree in education from Kent State University in 1994 and her masters degree from the University of Akron in 2010. She taught science at Barberton High School for 10 years. After spending 7 years raising her two children she returned to teaching at the Portage Lakes Career Center. She taught at the career center for 8 years and then returned to college to complete coursework for licensure as an intervention specialist. The pandemic offered her the opportunity to teach 8th grade U.S. history for 1 year at Northwest Middle School after which she joined the family at STVM.  Mrs. Marsala lives in Green with her husband of 27 years, Rino. Her daughter, Katelin, recently graduated from college and is a registered nurse. Her son, Brandon, attends the University of Toledo as a business major.
