High atop a hill in Akron…a new and exciting vista has emerged for eastbound travelers on Market Street. The recent demolition of the former Costigan’s Office Supply building allows for one of Akron’s “hidden gems” to now be revealed…St. Vincent-St. Mary High School is now visible from West Market Street, along with an expanse of land for future westward development of the campus.
Phase I of this campus development includes demolition of the Costigan’s building to make way for a much needed, well lit, 136 space parking lot. Once the lot is paved, landscaping is complete and a highly visible digital sign is installed, a new gateway will define the Maple and Market entrance to our campus, with the land to the west of the lot available for additional future campus growth. Faculty, staff, students and visitors will all benefit from surface parking with easy access to our school.
This exciting and important initiative needs your help! Please consider a gift to the Curb Appeal Campaign. Gifts of any amount will be instrumental in helping us achieve our goal of $327,000. Donors of $1,000 and above will be invited to a Curb Appeal Tailgate Party on the new lot once the project is completed, prior to the start of the 2017-18 school year.
