Tom Carone VM77 to step down as president of St. Vincent-St. Mary High School following 2020-2021 school year

Aug 06, 2020

Dear STVM Faculty, Staff, and Community:

After much thought and reflection, I have concluded that the time is right for me to step down from my position as president of St. Vincent-St. Mary High School. The Executive Board of Directors of STVM were informed of this decision last week. This has been very difficult because STVM is, and will always be, a special place to me. My energy and passion for serving STVM will remain as I complete the 2020-2021 school year. I have come to the reluctant conclusion that this is the time for me to pass the torch on to new leadership and devote my energies to a few causes about which I deeply care.

The 2020-2021 school year marks the beginning of my 12th year at STVM. I have enjoyed each and every year, and I am very fortunate to have worked with the faculty, staff, students and administrators who worked together to make STVM a better school. There is much to be done over the next 11 months. We must continue to advance the quality of STVM education, while continuing to set high standards to maintain the best student experience for all of our students.

The board will soon appoint a committee to conduct the search for STVM’s next president. As the search progresses during the next several months, I will continue to be dedicated and committed to the mission of STVM: “A Catholic School in the Marianist Tradition."

I am deeply grateful for the honor and privilege of serving as president of STVM and I look forward to spending the next 11 months thanking as many of you as I can for the support you have given me over the past 11+ years. I thank you from the bottom of my heart, and hope that the coming years bring good fortune and prosperity to each of you, your families and to everyone associated with the STVM Family.

God Bless.

Thomas M. Carone VM77
