STVM Students Witness Powerful Presentation by Cary Dabney at First Friday Luncheon

On Friday, November 2, a select group of STVM students had the opportunity to attend the First Friday Luncheon at Tangier, which is put on by the First Friday Club of Akron. The First Friday Club of Greater Akron (FFCGA) was founded in Akron, Ohio, in August, 1999. Its purpose is to bring the best Catholic thinkers, teachers, and leaders to Akron on a monthly basis to promote a better understanding of the significant issues impacting church, family, work, and community life. During this event, staff and students were able to listen to an inspiring speech by Cary Dabney, Director of the Office of Ministry to African American Catholics. Cary Dabney is the new director of the Diocese of Cleveland Office of Ministry to African-American Catholics.
