STVM Students Compete at University of Akron Virtual District Science Event
May 20, 2020
With all of the cancellations due to COVID-19, we are very grateful that students were able to participate in the virtual University of Akron District Science Day. In order to participate, students had to record a video of their presentation, upload their final papers, and answer multiple questions about their projects, all of which were used by the judges to score their projects. We had 11 students take on the challenge of this new format and all 11 scored the top rating of "Superior!" Their scores have qualified them for State Science Day, which will also be held virtually.
The 72nd Western Reserve District 5 Science Fair was one we are sure to never forget. The following students scored a "Superior," which allows them the privilege to move on to State competition:
Several of the students also took home awards for placing in the top of their category and/or winning special sponsored awards that were particular to their area of study.
