STVM School Community Virtually Celebrates the Feast of Blessed Chaminade
Jan 22, 2021
Today, STVM staff and students gathered virtually in mentor groups to celebrate the Feast of Blessed William Joseph Chaminade. We would like to thank Fr. Norm of St. Vincent de Paul Church for leading us in celebration.
Blessed Chaminade was a French Roman Catholic priest who survived persecution during the French Revolution. He founded the Society of Mary, also called the Marianists, in 1817. In 2000, Pope John Paul II beatified Blessed Chaminade. On this day, as a school community, let us recommit ourselves to living out our Marianist heritage today and throughout the year. Let us pray for each other and all members of the Family of Mary.
You are constantly at work in Your Church, and through individuals and communities You manifest your spirit for the good of your people. In a special way You bestowed Your spirit
on Your servant Blessed William Joseph Chaminade,
so that he might live fully according to the Gospel
and with love devote himself to Your saving work.
You have inspired communities of men and women
to follow his example by consecrating themselves to You
so to serve the Church under the leadership of Mary.
May the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit
be glorified in all places through the Immaculate Virgin Mary. Amen.
