STVM Robotics Team, Duct Tape & Luck, Qualifies for State Finals

One of STVM’s robotics teams qualified for the state finals. Team 8497-Duct Tape & Luck made it the final round of competition on Saturday and finished with enough points to make it to the state finals. There were 28 teams competing in the state qualifying tournament at Tri-C in Cleveland with only 6 teams moving on. Team members on Duct Tape & Luck include seniors Xiaoge “David” Zhang, Zach “Sticky Fingers” Olson, Zichao “Chao” Hu, Michael “3D” Rodgers, Liam Squire, Leping “Lance” Li and junior Tingzhang “August” Li. The state finals are on February 16-17 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

STVM fields 3 robotics teams and the remaining 2 teams will try again to qualify for the state finals at Kent States tournament on February 2-3. Team 7324-Chain Saw includes juniors Joey Fox and Christian Wierzbicki, sophomores Kaitlin Kemp and Bridget Donnelly, freshman Ella Brindo and Jack Thomas. Members of Team 7601-Root Access include Senior Shawn Tahajod, Junior Ben Rodgers, Sophomore Lily Holstein, and freshman Cameron Feezel, Andrew Ciccotelli, Matt Yatsko, Zavien Cruz and Chris Sipe.
