STVM Hires Terry Cistone as Head Football Coach

St. Vincent-St. Mary High School (STVM) today announced the hiring of Terry Cistone as Head Football Coach. Coach Cistone is a 1979 graduate of STVM. He has 38 years of coaching experience. Coach Cistone was on staff at STVM in 1981 and 1982 when the Fighting Irish won back to back State Championships. He coached at Firestone and Buchtel High Schools and was the Head Coach at Revere High School from 2003-2009 and again in 2019. Coach Cistone acted as STVM’s Special Teams Coordinator in 2020 and Running Backs Coach in 2021. He graduated from The University of Akron and obtained his Master’s Degree from Ashland University.

Coach Cistone comes from a long STVM lineage. His father John Cistone was Head Football Coach at St. Vincent and St. Vincent-St. Mary for 34 years, winning State Championships in 1972, 1981, 1982 and 1988, compiling over 200 wins. Green Street Stadium field is named after Coach John Cistone. 

Coach Terry Cistone currently serves as the Director of Compliance and is a Physical Education teacher at St. Vincent-St. Mary. 

Coach Cistone commented, “I cannot begin to tell you how honored and excited I am to be named Head Football Coach at St. Vincent-St. Mary. As Head Coach, I promise that we will do our best to continue to hold our players accountable to the standards that make STVM and the Fighting Irish program one of the best in the state of Ohio. We will develop tough gentlemen, mentally and physically. We will be a program that the STVM can be proud of on and off the field. We cannot wait to start.
