Student Launch Team's Proposal Approved by NASA

Oct 06, 2020

Congratulations to the STVM Student Launch team, whose proposal was recently approved by NASA and was officially selected to participate in the 2020-2021 NASA Student Launch competition! This is the 8th year out of nine years that the team has earned the prestigious honor of being one of less than a dozen high schools in the nation to participate in this months-long challenge.

Mr. Engels' dedicated team of students are required to design, build, test, and fly a payload and high-powered amateur rocket to an altitude between 3,500 and 5,500 feet. They must also must meet multiple documentation and presentation milestones with NASA experts as they develop their rocket. The reports often total hundreds of pages of work by the end of the competition year.

We'll have updates throughout the year on their progress. Please join us in congratulating this team for carrying on the strong legacy of STVM's unrivaled student launch program!
