Morse Commits to Walsh University to Continue Academic and Baseball Career

Jan 08, 2021

Accompanied by family and a few friends, Andrew Morse made his academic and athletic commitment to Walsh University official on the morning of Friday, January 8!

Andrew is a returning three-year letterman for the Fighting Irish baseball program. He has anchored the left side of the infield the last two seasons as STVM’s shortstop. In 2019, Morse had 22 hits in 73 at bats with 16 RBIs and 24 runs scored. He stole 11 bases and finished with a .945 fielding percentage after 110 total chances. In 2019, he was voted by his teammates as the Sean Walter VM89 Defensive MVP award winner.

STVM baseball coach Anthony Boarman commented on Andrew saying, “I am proud of what Andrew has accomplished the last three years in our program despite losing his junior season to the COVID-19 shutdown. He is a the type of player every coach wishes for on the field, but most importantly, he is even more special in the dugout, locker room and in the classroom. The greatest compliment that I can give him beyond his playing abilities is that he is a great teammate and always looks out for others. Coach Mead and the Cavaliers are getting a great athlete and a great person.”
