St. Vincent-St. Mary is excited to announce the hiring of our new Head Girls Soccer Coach, Kathleen Vass. Vass is a 2002 graduate of STVM. While at STVM, she competed in soccer, basketball, bowling, and softball. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics from the University of Akron. She went on to earn a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from Walsh University.

Vass started coaching soccer soon after graduating from STVM and served as an assistant coach for the STVM girls soccer team from 2003-2008. She has also served as a head coach for St. Paul Elementary, Europa Soccer Club, Kenston High School, and Kenston Futbol Club, and is currently on staff with Akron Metro Futbol Club Elite. Vass has worked as a physical therapist for over 10 years and has recently started a private practice.

“I am so excited for the opportunity to put back on the green and gold and to play another role in advancing the mission of St. Vincent-St. Mary athletics,” Vass said. “I am looking forward to working with the students, their families, and the administration to support our tradition of excellence with integrity, innovation, and enthusiasm.”

According to STVM Athletic Director Willie McGee VM03, "Kathleen's experience and commitment in assisting the growth of youth soccer players in and out of the game of soccer was impressive in the interview process. We welcome her back home and are excited to have her as our new Head Girls Soccer Coach."
