Five STVM Students Selected by NASA Diver Challenge to Present Research Results in Seattle, WA
May 22, 2017
STVM had five students (Chao Hu, David Zhang, Liam Squire, Zack Olson and Michael Rodgers) enter the NASA Diver Challenge, a national contest sponsored by NASA to engineer an object that would dive the deepest into water when placed into a micro-gravity environment. Based on a proposal they submitted, our students were selected last February to be part of the contest and with the help of STVM partners at the University of Akron, they were able to coat their divers with specialty polymers.
Results of the contest were just released and our students' experiment and associated paper were deemed worthy of them being invited to present their results in October at the American Society for Gravitational and Space Research meeting in Seattle.
We are very proud of their work!
