Welcome Letter from STVM Principal, Mrs. Kimberlee Gorr

Dear Students and Families of STVM,

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! I would like to extend a special welcome to all of the new families joining the St. Vincent-St. Mary High School community this year and a fond welcome back to all of our existing families. I hope that you have enjoyed a restful and relaxing summer and are eager to return to school. I am thrilled that you are participants in our exceptional learning community and I look forward to working with you this year. We have had a productive summer and all indications point to an incredible year ahead. We are excited to welcome the students into the classrooms and the hallways filling those areas with energy and enthusiasm for learning.

Our dedicated faculty and staff have been busy making the necessary preparations for the start of the school year. Many teachers have attended special workshops and conferences designed to enhance their skills and those of their students. Others have participated in a variety of Marianist sponsored retreats and conferences. We are proud of the improvements made to our campus as well. The LRC has received a fantastic facelift with fresh paint and new carpeting. The makerspace continues to expand and develop with some new and wonderful additions. Several classrooms have also been painted and recarpeted this summer.

Each year brings positive change. This year, that change includes the addition of several new members to the STVM faculty. We are delighted to welcome Mrs. Kelly Widders to the administrative team as Dean of Academics. Teachers Kelly Gupta (Library/Media Specialist), Alissa Skovira (English), Joe Paolucci (English/Art), Marian Shoemaker (Intervention Specialist), Christa Hovey (School Counselor), Arica Zimmer (School Counselor), Sharon Kastelic (Intervention Specialist), and Nicole Paolucci (Special Education Aide) were added to our faculty and will bring new ideas and enthusiasm to our educational team.

During the month of September, we will welcome parents and guardians to follow their students' schedules and to meet the teachers at our annual Curriculum Night. Parent-Teacher Conferences, scheduled on October 24, will be another opportunity to meet with teachers on a personal level about your student's progress. There will be many exciting events and announcements coming this year and I truly look forward to sharing them all with you. I sincerely hope that you share my enthusiasm for the rapidly approaching 2019-2020 school year!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Kimberlee Gorr
Principal

Drivers can access Walnut St. safely from Market Street by turning directly on to Walnut St. (next to Hazel Tree Interiors) or by entering Bates St. (next to Dave Towell Cadillac).

There are two sets of entry doors along Walnut St. that students can enter. Parents are welcome to let students out at the curb or pull into the empty parking lot closest to Market St. See the map below:
