Great American Smokeout - November 21
In cooperation with the American Cancer Society's "Great American Smokeout," the STVM Future Medics gave a presentation over the announcements during homeroom. While the American Cancer Society's focus is on today, November 21, being the first step in quitting cigarette smoking, Future Medics students took the opportunity to put the spotlight on the recent issue of vaping amongst the teenage population.
Vaping is claiming the health and lives of our teens at an alarming rate. One in five teens have vaped. Nicotine is highly addictive and can harm the adolescent brain development that controls attention, learning, retention, mood and impulse control.
Do your part, if you use tobacco or vape, quit for one day, it takes time and a plan. Your future depends on it!
