Counseling

Welcome to the STVM Counseling Department!

Mission Statement

The mission of St. Vincent-St. Mary High School's Comprehensive School Counseling Program is to advocate for an environment that supports high achievement for all students and will empower them to become effective learners, responsible citizens, and productive members of a global workforce. In collaboration with other educators and families, the counseling program will enable all students to experience educational success by providing preventative and responsive services in the areas of academic, career, and personal-social development to help students reach their fullest potential.

The Counseling Department at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School is committed to meeting the unique intellectual, physical, social, and emotional needs of each student. We have a dedicated team of 4 licensed school counselors that have many years of experience in this field.

Our two full-time school counselors are Mrs. Boarman and Mrs. Zinke. Our school counselors each have two grade levels that they work with, and they rotate each year so that they have the same class for four years. The school counselors will conduct a Freshman Parent Night, Sophomore Parent Night, and additional parent nights as needed. They will also coordinate an annual College Fair and Career Fair.

We also have two part time college counselors, Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Taylor. Our college counselors split the alphabet, and they will start meeting with students individually their junior year and in classroom lessons to help them navigate the college process. They will conduct a Junior Parent Night, Senior/FAFSA Parent Night, and a NCAA Parent Night.
