Counseling

Welcome to the STVM Counseling Department!

Mission Statement

The mission of St. Vincent-St. Mary High School's Comprehensive School Counseling Program is to advocate for an environment that supports high achievement for all students and will empower them to become effective learners, responsible citizens, and productive members of a global workforce. In collaboration with other educators and families, the counseling program will enable all students to experience educational success by providing preventative and responsive services in the areas of academic, career, and personal-social development to help students reach their fullest potential.

The Counseling Department at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School is committed to meeting the unique intellectual, physical, social, and emotional needs of each student. We have a dedicated team of 5 licensed school counselors that have many years of experience in this field.

Our two full-time school counselors are Mrs. Boarman and Mrs. Zinke. Our school counselors each have two grade levels that they work with, and they rotate each year so that they have the same class for four years. The school counselors will conduct a Freshmen Parent night, Sophomore Parent night, NCAA Parent night, and additional parent nights as needed. Mrs. Knapp is a part time school counselor that assists with ACT/PSAT/AP testing and academic support. We also have two college counselors, Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Taylor, who will help navigate our students through the college process.
