STVM Retreats

Our retreat program emphasizes developing in our students a lived faith and an authentic relationship with God. The themes of each retreat vary based on grade level and retreat focus and address key topics in adolescent spiritual formation. Retreat topics include identity, God’s love, overcoming obstacles to God’s love, sexual morality, and living out one’s faith.

We offer days of reflection for each grade level that are day-long experiences led by our Peer Ministers that all students participate in. The culmination of our retreat program is our four-day Kairos retreat which seniors participate in.

Kairos is a well-known retreat for high school and college students based on the spiritual exercises of St. Ignatius, the founder of the Jesuits. The mission of Kairos is to create an environment away, a moment in "God's time," in which participants may be awakened to the ever-present love of God and come to an awareness of "God in all things."

The Kairos experience emphasizes peer ministry, Christian leadership, support, and community. The witnesses given on Kairos are grounded in and centered on the revelation of God's love for us through the people and experiences in our lives.

In this four-day program, prayer and the sacraments are central and are complemented with community, discussion, and reflection.

Service Trips

Caley Scahill VM21

"Before going on the Kentucky mission trip I thought service was just about giving others material things. After experiencing the trip, I learned that service is more about making a personal connection. In the end I believe they left a bigger impact on my life than I did on theirs."

Upcoming Service Trips

Service trips are currently on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic.
