ACT Tutoring

Once again, we will be offering one-on-one, private ACT tutoring to interested students after school in the College Career and Readiness Center (CCRC).

Mr. Coen Cobb will be conducting these sessions to prepare individual students for the upcoming October 22nd and December 10th, Saturday ACT tests. Students will be preparing for the English, Math, Reading, and Science sections of the ACT test. Mr. Cobb has worked as a private ACT tutor for years, instructed ACT classes and camps for STVM, and is certified by ACT to tutor and instruct students in the various sections of the ACT.

The total cost of tutoring is based on the number of one-on-one sessions:
  • Cost for tutoring for preparing for the ACT on Saturday, October 22nd = $390.00
  • Cost for tutoring for preparing for the ACT on Saturday, December 10th = $390.00

Students will work with Mr. Cobb at their own pace, with a tailored tutoring plan in each subject area, using old ACT tests to give students an authentic experience. Each session will last one hour per week and will take place over multiple weeks leading up to the Saturday ACT test date; that way all of the information is as fresh as possible for the student.

Students and parents interested in this opportunity should understand:
  • Interested students should have already taken the ACT at least once before starting these tutoring sessions
  • Space is extremely limited; sign-ups are on a first come, first serve basis.
  • Tutoring will occur on the dates outlined in the sign-up link below. Consequently, no make up times for sessions will be offered.
  • Make sure to consult the student’s schedule to avoid picking a time slot that would cause any conflicts.
  • Students will be expected to complete additional homework for tutoring, which is necessary to help them prepare for the ACT.
  • For  each session, your student must bring a writing utensil, calculator, and all previous ACT scores
  • Payment for tutoring is due by the first session; checks should be made payable to St. Vincent-St. Mary and can be given to Mr. Cobb during the school day or at the first tutoring session
