Each year, select members of the senior class are presented with prestigious awards that they have earned and have been nominated for due to a wide range of accomplishments, character traits, and experiences. Congratulations to our Class of 2020 "Awards of Distinction" recipients!
Valedictorian
The student who has the highest grade point average over four years.

Knights of Columbus Manhood & Womanhood
The Knights of Columbus Manhood & Womanhood Award is the highest accolade given to recognize two seniors at graduation. It is awarded to one senior male and one senior female who have demonstrated Christian values in daily living and outstanding leadership, character, scholarship, citizenship, and generosity in participating in school events. Nominated by the members of the class of 2020 and selected by the faculty, these graduates exemplify the very best that St. Vincent-St. Mary High School represents. To be nominated students must also meet the criteria of having a 3.0 grade point accumulation.

The Emerald Shamrock Award
Awarded to one senior male and one senior female who have demonstrated outstanding scholarship, character, loyalty, leadership, participation in activities, and reliability. Recipients are nominated by the class of 2020 and selected by the faculty. To be nominated students must also meet the criteria of having a 3.5 grade point accumulation.

Chionchio and Cistone Award
Named for St. Vincent-St. Mary High School graduates John Cistone V50, legendary varsity football coach, and Mary Jo Chionchio V60, our most successful female coach, these awards are presented to the outstanding senior male and female student athletes. The recipients are exceptional athletes, have a minimum 2.3 GPA, best exemplify leadership, sportsmanship, dependability, and character in their respective sports, and have displayed dedication and achievement in the classroom and a true commitment to St. Vincent-St. Mary High School.

Marianist Service Award
Senior who has completed the most Christian service hours completed in four years at STVM.

Presented to graduating students with outstanding servant leadership records.

John Philip Sousa Award
Introduced in 1955 to honor the top student in the high school band, the John Philip Sousa Band Award® recognizes superior musicianship and outstanding dedication.
- Drew Squire
OHSAA Courageous Student Award
This award goes to a student who either currently has, or who has overcome a serious illness, injury or disability. A student who has overcome great adversity in a positive way. A student who has gone far beyond normal in assisting a fellow student, family member or friend. This award is intended to bring credit to a very special student who has been involved in, or supportive of, the interscholastic athletic program and who deserves recognition for courage.

Archie Griffin Sportsmanship Award
The award, named for two-time Heisman Trophy winner Archie Griffin, is presented each year to a male and female student who has been outstanding in their efforts to promote sportsmanship in their school and community.

Presented to a senior woman and man with the highest scholastic average and a minimum of four varsity letters in high school sports.

Awarded to a candidate who has exhibited commedable scholastic activity, dependability, fulfillment and acceptance of responsibility, personality and pleasantness to patients and staff, leadership capability, inspiration to patients in service performed and appearance.
