   In the Fall of 2009, the STVM /UA Partners in Progress Partnership, under the leadership of Project Director , Mary Jo Chionchio, initiated the Research Experience with the UA College of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering. In October of 2010 this story of 11 STVM students and 8 STVM Science Teachers joining with 10 Polymer Scientists attracted the attention of Akron-Cleveland TV media. On October 4 th and 5 th, WKYC (Channel 3) and WEWS (Channel 5) filmed our students and teachers at the UA Polymer Laboratories participating in cutting edge real world research projects with UA Scientists. The Research Experience seeks to promote the research literacy of both students and teachers. Teachers bring their new-found knowledge back to the STVM classroom to raise our science curriculum to yet one more level of excellence.
