The STVM Ski and Snowboard Club just completed its fourth season! We ski and ride each Wednesday in January and February, right after school. In the past, we have skied at both Boston Mills and Brandywine ski resorts and are planning to start out our 2012 ski season at Brandywine. We are so lucky to have had such an overwhelming response to this club! Each year we have had over 40 skiers, bladers, and snowboarders join us. We are expecting an equally strong membership this year. Club membership signup will begin in October next year. There are two options to join our ski club: you can sign up for the school lift ticket package, which includes a once-weekly lift ticket for our ski club sessions, or, if you already have your own pass for BMBW, you can just join our school club without purchasing the lift ticket package and still receive all the perks of our ski club. More information will be forthcoming as the ski season draws nearer. We are planning our fourth-annual overnight ski trip to Holiday Valley in Ellicottville, New York this year. Our dates for the trip are January 19th-20th, 2012. We have no school on Friday, January 20th due to a teacher work day, so we are taking this great opportunity to venture out to some bigger slopes. We will leave right after semester exams are completed on Thursday, January 19th. We will be able to ski in the evening on Thursday and all day Friday, and will return home on Friday evening around 10 p.m. This optional trip is open to all STVM students and their families, even if the students are not ski club members. The cost of the trip will be approximately $150. More information will be available in the fall when the details are finalized, and we will begin registering students for the trip at that time. If you have any questions about our Ski and Snowboard club program, please contact Mr. Robert Brownfield, the Ski Club faculty advisor, by clicking on the e-mail link below. See you on the slopes!
