STVM is excited to welcome "Breaking Barriers, Hope Is Alive" to speak to our students on Wednesday, January 25th during an all school assembly. This non-profit organization has been speaking at schools in our area to help spread awareness about the growing heroin epidemic in our State and Country.
The Leprechaun Theatre Guild Presents: The Great High School Whodunit; An Audience Participation Mystery Dinner
The Leprechaun Theatre Guild will present their Audience Participation Mystery Dinner "The Great High School Whondunit" on Monday, January 23 at 6:00 PM. Tickets are $15 and includes dinner, beverage, dessert and a night of mystery and fun.
ACT Prep Class To Be Offered at STVM
Teachers from the STVM Mathematics, Language Arts, and Science departments will be hosting an ACT preparation class from the beginning of January to the end of March. There will be a total of eight sessions. Click the link below for more information.

Two Senior Student Council Members Spread Holiday Cheer at The Merriman Assisted Living Home
Senior Student Council members Natalie Petit and Rachel Reese helped to spread holiday cheer at The Merriman Assisted Living and Nursing Home last week. These two ladies took time out of their day to deliver Christmas cards to residents and patients that were handmade by the senior class.

STVM Irish Dance Team Sings Christmas Songs to Teammate Recovering from Liver Transplant
Our STVM Fighting Irish dance team braved the cold and snow to spread a little Christmas cheer over the weekend. The team went caroling at the home of one of their Irish dance team members who is recovering from a recent liver transplant.

All-American Model UN Students Awarded First Place Best Delegation Award in Budapest, Hungary
Three St. Vincent-St. Mary High School Model United Nations students and eight other All-American students spent six days of their break in Budapest, Hungary participating in the Yale Model Government Europe Conference, a competitive debate conference that attracts over 700 students from around the world.

STVM Irish Dancers Compete and Place in Chicago's Mid-America Oireachtas
Over Thanksgiving weekend, two of our Irish Dancers were in Chicago competing in the Mid-America Oireachtas (14 state region). We are pleased to announce that MacKenna Hornyak VM17 was awarded Girls U17 Champion and Abby Volk VM17 was awarded Girls U18 3rd place.

Eight STVM Students Invited to 2016-2017 All-Akron Student Engineering Program
We are very proud to receive the news that eight STVM students have been invited to participate in the All-Akron Student Engineering Program. The program is a collaborative network of educators, business affiliates and organizations that inspire interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) careers to City of Akron resident high school students and retain them as the current and next generation of engineers in the City.
