STVM Shines at the Northeastern Ohio Science and Engineering Fair

The 64th Annual Northeastern Ohio Science and Engineering Fair was held at John Carroll University, the week of March 6, 2017. This is a three day event, where over 500 students, from 80 schools, in northeast Ohio compete for over $20,000 in awards and the chance to move on to the ISEF National science fair.

This year, St. Vincent-St. Mary High School sent 11 students to compete in the fair. All of the students did very well in their respective categories. Below are the places each student ranked within their category and the special awards that they received.

-Michael Chmura (11) - 2nd Place,ASM International - Cleveland Chapter, CWRU - Women Faculty of the School of Medicine, Cleveland Clinic - Lerner Research Institute
-Joe Conti (12) -3rd Place
-Kevin Feezel (12) -2nd Place, American Institute of Chemical Engineers, ASM International - Cleveland Chapter
-Vincent Glidden (11) -3rd Place, Cleveland Chemical Association
-Molly Haines (11) -3rd Place, Cleveland Chemical Association, William R. Sweet Award for Chemistry
-Zichao “Chao” Hu (11) -2nd Place
-Olivia Janolo (11) - 3rd Place, Society for In Vitro Biology
-Meijin “May” Li (12) - Honorable Mention
-Patrick McFarland (12) - 2nd place, American Chemical Society - Cleveland Section, ASM Materials Education Foundation, Society for Applied Spectroscopy - Cleveland Section
-Alex Oliverio (12) - 2nd Place
-Caroline Pier (11) - 3rd place, CWRU - Women Faculty of the School of Medicine
