Discover the STVM Difference

Every student at STVM is required to complete a year-long, inquiry-based science project as part of the curriculum and courses at each grade level.

The science inquiry method of teaching encourages students to ask questions about the natural world and then to apply themselves to find the answers, rather than merely memorize facts.

The projects put science inquiry into action. The students research and identify a problem or question that they proceed to solve or answer by carefully and methodically performing experiments, conducting research and consulting with others, including students and researchers from The University of Akron’s Partners in Progress program.

The Center’s lab facilities allow students to use state-of-the-art scientific instrumentation to work on their projects.
