Now that we are beginning 4th quarter, this is a reminder to all 9th, 10th, and 11th graders who plan to play a fall sport. Eligibility for fall sports is based on 4th quarter grades. Summer school grades may NOT be used to substitute for failing grades received in the final grading period of the previous year.

Sportsmanship Award:
St. Vincent-St. Mary has received the Sportsmanship Award from the Portage and Summit County Football Official Association.  We were selected out of 44 schools to receive this award.  Criteria for the award included:  Team Attitude, Coaches' Attitudes, Crowd Attitude, Team's Attitude towards Opponents, Treatment of Officials, and Accommodations for Officials.

>St. Vincent - St. Mary will have a swim team this year! Click here to see our new team. Congratulations to the lady Irish swimmers! They competed in the Stampede Invitational at Wooster High School over the weekend (Jan.5). The following swimmers earned personal best times – Jackie Price and Courtney Kovach in the 50 yard freestyle, Courtney Kovach in the 100 yard breast stroke, Angel Garnett and Kesho Morsches in the 100 yard freestyle and Abby Tanner in the 200 I.M. (individual medley) and 100 yard breast stroke.

Welcome Back
It was a great night for the Irish! We were so pleased to have you so many people join us welcoming back Coach Dan Boarman Irish style.

Dan’s party was a true testament of the St. Vincent-St. Mary High School tradition. Now that Dan has come home, we are experiencing a rebirth of this exciting tradition filled with spirit and deep pride.

>Cheerleaders take first place at the National Championships


Congratulations to the STVM Competition Hip Hop Dance team they placed first at Nationals in the Varsity Hip Hop Division. Team members are Lauren Welsh, Amanda Kirn, Maloree Miller, Lauren Connell, Anna Bowen, Olivia Wetta and Natalie Maloy coached by Megan Welsh and assisted by Collette Prillaman and Denise Bowen. The Hip Hop Team has qualified to compete at the "World Series of Cheerleading Championship" this may in Baltimore, MD.

 

Congratulations to our Competition Cheer team varsity Level 5 2nd place. Receiving individual awards were Kayla Seikel "Best Cheerleader Varsity Female" 1st place National Champion,Ariel Petrella "Best Jazz Soloist Varsity Female" 1st place National Champion, Gabe Schwenk "Best Cheerleader Varsity Male 1st place National Champion, and our STVM Dance team won the 2007 "Best Choreography" Award.
