Administration

The Administration of St. Vincent - St. Mary High School has as its primary function to implement the MIssion Statement of the School, specifically enabling students "to learn,
to lead and to serve" throughout their high school career. Administrators oversee the Academic program, as well as Athletics and Extracurriculars, Development and Admissions, and the Business matters of the school.

 

 

Headmaster

David Rathz

David V. Rathz came to St. Vincent - St. Mary High School in 1998 after three decades of very successful teaching and administering in the public schools. In the year 2000, the Presidency and Principalship were combined to create the Headmaster position, which Mr. Rathz was asked to accept. Mr. Rathz employs the model of "continuous school improvement" working with academic department heads to develop the faculty and the curriculum for the high school. The Headmaster convenes the Admissions Committee. He also convenes the Administrative team for regular group meetings including Dean of Students, Academic Intervention Advisor, Athletic Director, Public Relations Director, Business Manager, Admissions Director, Development Director and Campus Minister. The Headmaster also meets on a regular basis with each of those directors individually.

 

Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and

Development Director

Tim Castrigano

St. Vincent - St. Mary High School welcomes Tim Castrigano to the school community.  He has joined the STVM staff as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Development Director.  Tim, a CPA, has been president of Castrigano & Company since 1997 and has worked as a consultant for several Fortune 500 clients in the retail industry.  With an extensive background in business, he has become the school's first CFO.  Tim's corporate experience in designing, implementing and training state of the art planning and marketing systems which are user friendly will translate well in the school environment as we continue to grow into the future with unique and contemporary needs.

As Development Director, Tim will guide the Capital Campaign in its dramatic final phase.  He states, "I am very excited about this once in a lifetime opportunity to play an important role in the future of St. Vincent - St. Mary High School .  With the 20 million dollar Capital Campaign underway and a major expansion in the works, I look forward to being part of this impressive team.  My background has always been in the corporate world.  Now the shareholders will be the students and families of STVM.  This makes a more meaningful challenge."

Tim is a graduate of Gilmour Academy and Cleveland State University .  He resides in Aurora with wife Renee and daughter Megan, 8 and Sarah 6

 

Academic Advisor

Ms. Carol Gill

Ms. Carol Gill graduated from St. Mary High School in 1967. After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Education, she returned to her alma mater to teach. She taught at St. Mary High School one year before St. Mary and St. Vincent were merged to form one school. She was instrumental in helping
to develop the computer department at STVM. In her role as Academic Advisor since 1996 she is responsible for student schedules, report cards and student transcripts. She also serves as a Department Head, a member of the Technology Committee, Retention Committee, Disciplinary Committee, Leadership Team and Administrative Team.

 

Dean of Students
Mr. Burke Stephens

Mr. Stephens came to St. Vincent - St. Mary High School in the Fall of 2007 after thirty-five successful years teaching and administering in the public schools. Mr. Stephens works directly with all students in discipline, attendance and dress code issues. The Dean of Students is involved in the school's educational programs and student activities. He is assisted by the Assistant Dean of Students, Mr. Mark Murphy.
