SCHEDULE CHANGE POLICY

Schedule changes are made only when there is a careful consideration and consultation with the guidance counselor, student, parent and teacher.

Acceptable reasons for a schedule change:

1. The passing/failing of a summer school course.

2. Night school credit earned.

3. Mechanical error or computer error.

4. Change in educational program. For example, a student learns of a requirement unique to a college program he/she wishes to enter.

5. Failure of a sequential course.

6. Teacher - initiated change.

Unacceptable reasons for a schedule change:

1. Student would carry less than six classes per semester.

2. Student fails to apply himself/herself in class.

Addition/Withdrawal FROM a Class:

1. Students who need to add or withdraw FROM a class must consider the following school policies:

a. There is a $25.00 charge for all schedule changes.

b. Semester classes: Student withdrawals/adds must be completed within 7 school days .

d. Yearly classes: Semester policy applies. However, students may withdraw/add at the semester for sufficient reason, but only if the change has been agreed upon by parent, student and Academic Advisor.

2. Students will not be added to closed classes.

3. A schedule change will not go INTO effect until parent approval has been received.

4. Students can change levels of courses at semester with teacher’s permission.

Procedure for making a schedule change:

1. Parent or student obtains a “Change of Schedule” Request Form.

2. Parent or student completes all identification information and describes the specific schedule change or changes requested.

3. Signatures approving the schedule change are obtained FROM student, parent, and teachers involved.

4. The number of credits will be reviewed to double-check number of credits needed for graduation.

5. The schedule change will be reviewed to make sure that students are still carrying the minimum of six classes per semester.

6. The students will receive a copy of the authorized change to SHOW the teacher as an admit to class.
